In my world, there are those that like to be stories (models) and there are those like to tell stories (photographers). I try to be the best storyteller that I can be.
I’m not a fashion photographer so I'm not big into taking tons and tons of fashion photos. You will not find me cranking out thousands of pretty photos of people just get pretty photos into “portfolios” and the like. I like the artistic side of photos and I would much rather take a photo that makes you stop, think, and stick with you when you leave it makes you want to come back to it later.
I do not have a degree in art, photography, or anything of the sort. I have, however, been a member of several professional photography associations, clubs, and have friends that DO have degrees critique my stuff. On top of that I constantly work with other photographers as a second shooter and an assistant to learn how to do things. If you’re a photographer please contact me if you need help with something or want to put together some kind of collaborative shoot.
I do this as a business so I prefer the paying stuff. HOWEVER, I understand that with the economy being the way that they are (and most of the individuals on this site being college students) people cannot afford to pay. So, I will make an offer to anyone that wishes to work with me. I’ll trade you shoot for shoot. You do a shoot for me (my concept/idea) and I’ll do one for you (your concept/idea). Fair? Before you ask, this does not mean that you have to get nude for my concept. I ask no one to do anything that they are uncomfortable with. You just say, “hey, I don’t do _____________” and that’s it. If you aren't comfortable then it won't happen.
If this isn’t up your alley, give me a shout anyway. I will consider TFCD+P for any model that might have something that I could use. YES, that +P means I’ll print a photo for you to have for your physical portfolio...FREE.
Finally, very seldom (very, very seldom) do I ever pay models for their services. This is my business and I am constantly working with people on projects, ideas, and the like. Most often I’ll offer these individuals some free time if they will allow me to do advertising work with their images or if they work with me on a project of mine. So please do not send me a message asking to work with me and then, after a date is set for a meeting, spring the “my rates are on my page” line.
One last thing, I do not do "comment for comment" stuff. If you like something I do please comment! I take my comments seriously, very seriously. In return I’ll take a look at your stuff and if I like the idea, concept, etc then I’ll comment back.
