Dogbone Alt-Process

I enjoy both the inspirational beauty of a natural setting and the creative challenges of a studio environment. The images I'm seeking to make are a blend of the classic and the surreal. Maybe I was born a hundred years too late but the softer feel of the Pictorialist movement calls more strongly to me than many images made today. The complexity of curve and line in a simple setting to create a timeless image is what I am after.

I am a serious amateur working in alternative process photography. I use various techniques to create my negatives, from infrared film and antique cameras to home made pinhole cameras. I then print these images using both traditional darkroom methods and alternative processes from the 19th century.

I am looking for models interested in a creative partnership on a collaborative basis for figure work in both the studio and on location. If you have an idea for a project, please feel free to contact me about it.



Summer plans include a woodland figure series. This project may be shot with medium and/or large format equipment and will likely be printed in cyanotype and Van Dyke brown. Nearby locations have some interesting rocks, trees, and creeks. I am also open to some travel if you have a particularly lovely spot in mind.
