Polar Impressions Photography:
My name is Brett, I am a Sydney based Professional Photographer providing a wide range of photographic services. My specialty is model portfolio work, including both agency represented and free lance models.

The Professional Approach:
Photographic shoots are something that should be energetic comfortable and collaborative. I don’t believe in being pushy with models and shame on people who are. I am always keen to work with everyone from seasoned professionals to new models just starting out who may need a helping hand with a variety of aspects of the industry or just want to update and expand their portfolio. I approach every shoot with absolute professionalism, organized and focused.

Locations:
I have an extensive treasure trove of very cool locations in Sydney. And like they say, “location location location.” So be it beaches, flower filled fields, abandoned buildings, cliffs, parks, industrial areas or studios I pride myself on being able to come up with somewhere to shoot that’s 100% cool, and not the painfully recognizable over used locations that already feature in so many portfolio and catalogue images.

The Shoot:
Wardrobe options, locations, shoot style components and concepts will be discussed in detail prior to shooting and mutually agreed upon. Shoots will generally run for between 3 and 4 hours once on location. This will of course vary based on the concept, style and details etc. in this time. Always best that shoots are energetic and easy going, so generally half a day is optimal and everyone still has just a little energy left at the end.

Your portfolio needs balance and variety to showcase your talents and range as a model. With this philosophy in mind we will shoot multiple wardrobe options in more than one location on the same day. This will give you the widest range of results possible including swimwear, headshots, casual wear, lingerie, fashion and original concept themes. I am very patient and happy to coach and work with beginner and starting out models.



Digital Image Editing:
When the camera is back in the bag I always digitally process every image individually and on full view, not in batches and do it with painstaking perfectionism regardless of what’s involved or how long it takes. My post shoot image editing will be flattering to you and provide “real images” without the over smoothed cartoon Barbie look.

Rates and End Product:
My rate for standard half day model portfolio shoot is very reasonable contact me for details.

It will include;
Scouting of original multiple adjacent locations.
Shooting on the day.
Creativity in poses, concept and style.
Digital processing of images.
Disc of approx 35 to 55 full size high resolution portfolio printable images express posted to you within a week.
There are no subsequent costs or “surprise fees”

Hair and Make Up:
It is always a good thing when a model has enough skill and confidence to do their own hair and make up. However if a professional stylist required there are a variety of ways to recruit one. Some MUA’s and stylists with profiles on Model Mayhem will work TFCD or have very reasonable rates. You are free to use a stylist of your own choosing or I can use a stylist that I know is reliable, professional and creative.



In General:
If you wish to be chaperoned or bring an assistant that is of course fine.
I always encourage models to share their ideas, it is after all your portfolio and shoots are a joint collaborative project.
I do not ask models to shoot nudes unless they specify in their profile they will shoot nudes.
I am always exceptionally professional and will avoid even the appearance of being unprofessional.
Model release forms will apply.
I will shoot models aged under 18, legal obligations, release forms and guardian chaperones will be strictly adhered too and an additional fee for me to bring a witness will apply.

Limited TFCD Opportunities:
I also have a passionate drive for conceiving and creating original photographic art projects. I love what I do and I love the opportunity to develop, evolve and involve other like minded people in the process.

Generally TFCD will be artistic concept or fine art nude shoots. For models that shoot nudes or are willing to shoot nudes I will do supplementary portfolio work for them on TFCD basis. And we will get to make some great art in a relaxed collaborative way.

Non nude TFCD shoots are reserved for models where the results will be mutually beneficial to both our portfolios. And as with paid portfolio work the return to the model will be; disc of approx 55 to 80 full size high resolution portfolio printable images express posted within a week.

Feel free to approach me for a TFCD project if you are prepared to shoot nudes or partial nudes or if you believe that a project will be beneficial to us both.
