I just figured out how to put pictures in here. Some of my favs from a recent mansion shoot:
I'm a self-taught (except for that one class in high school), hobbyist photographer and hobbyist graphic designer (I have a minor in visual communications) who has been shooting for 10+ years. I'm on MM because I like to take pictures of people and it's a creative stress reliever for me. If it's not fun, it's not happening.
Some cool folks I've met on MM have encouraged me to incorporate some of my other creative endeavors into my photos. Projects include capturing style, dance, motion, ritual, "photo book" shots, and anything with food in it. I work whatever I feel. Lately, I've been occupied with the idea of creating images based on some of my writing that reads like this:
"She boiled cinnamon sticks and whole cloves in a pot to chase away the stench of her nights’ failures."
"I make lots of noise because silence is death’s call. I always have the lights on because darkness is death’s stare. I fidget a lot because stillness is death’s posture, its rhythm."
"She wanted to dip her fingers into the melted candle wax and spread it all over her face, to let it cool to the contours of her skin, to encase herself in anonymity, to feather fingers over muted features."
"She liked to send Polaroids with clouds. Sky with white patches, cream puffs floating on blue milk, gauze over sunlight wounds."
"...vivir una vida breva y maravillosa... I'm jealous of you for that. Y ahora, me deja para medir las distancias. The distance from my elbow to my wrist, from my wrist to my fingertips, from my fingertips to a face of death. La distancia entre del cuerpo y del fin."
"I wanted to indulge myself in you: a shot of good tequila, a squirt of fresh lime, licking fine salt off your spine..."
Mind drips with ideas.
However, I still just enjoy taking pictures aside from all this artsy fartsy stuff. I also thrive on collaborating with others. So, if you're just starting out and need some TF work done, let me know!
