About Me

After 31 years of being a professional photographer, and traveling all over the world, I now live in the beautiful Ozarks. I started my photography business at age 13, after selling the very first photographs that I ever took. I never spent even a single day as an amateur photographer, and 31 years later, at age 44, after many years of producing advertising and commercial images for the travel and cruise industry, and many major national and international corporations, and traveling to many exotic destinations all over the world, I woke up on day and was totally burned out.

After 31 years of doing photography strictly for money, and after climbing to the very top of my profession, and earning huge day-rates, I decided to walk away from the profession that I had entered so many years earlier. I made a vow to myself to never again touch a camera for the purpose of making money.

My life as a professional photographer was not just lived outside the box. I tore up the box, stomped on it, threw it into the trash and then cheered as the trash truck drove away with it.

Most amateur photographers spend their entire lives dreaming about some day "going Pro", becoming a professional photographer, but I spent many years dreaming about one day "going amateur" and only taking photos of what I wanted, where I wanted, when I wanted and how I wanted. With no more deadlines, no more stress, no more pressure, and no more clients to satisfy. Now I concentrate on creating artistic fine-art images in beautiful outdoors locations around the U.S., strictly for my own pleasure.

I still do work for some of my old photography clients, but instead of being behind the camera, these days I scout locations for those same advertising agencies and motion picture producers, seeking out the most beautiful outdoor locations around the U.S. for their advertising shoots, TV commercials and motion pictures.

I own my own airplane and fly myself all over the U.S., searching for the most beautiful beaches, lakes, rivers, forests, deserts and National Parks in the entire country. And while I'm there I create art with my camera, strictly for my own personal satisfaction.

Besides loving to fly airplanes (and helicopters too!) and creating artistic images in the most scenic landscapes all over the country, I don't like things to ever become boring...

... so I indulge my other passion of being a foodie, and turn every single trip that I take into a Foodie Safari. In addition to searching for glorious outdoor vistas of unimaginable beauty, I also seek out and eat at the most unique local restaurants that I can find all over the country. Who said that the life of an "mere" amateur photographer has to be boring.
