I am an improv photographer. I rarely go into a shoot with a clear and solid idea of what is going to come out of it. A shoot with me is like improv theatre. It’s all ad lib, and depends on the magic that evolves from the interaction between me and the model. All of my images come from the combined artistry of photographer and model. In a very real sense, they are not “my” images. They are “our images”.
I’m also a recorder. With my camera I hope to capture emotion and beauty. So when a model creates those things, and I see it, I press that little button on the front of the camera and record it for others to see as well.
Some of my work involves nudity. I use nudity to achieve one or more of three different goals. One is to convey power, another to convey vulnerability, and the third is to show beauty and form. Sometimes nudity seems to be the most powerful way to show those things effectively.
My attitude toward my work is echoed in the words of American essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. "Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful; for beauty is God's handwriting - a wayside sacrament, welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing."
Please take time to visit the models I've worked with. I guarantee it'll be worth every minute!
I am ALWAYS looking for models! New, experienced, any age. Please send me a message if you'd be interested!
"A picture that doesn't generate emotion probably wasn't worth taking in the first place." -Buff
PLEASE NOTE: FOR ME, "FRIENDS" IS FOR FOLKS I COLLABORATE WITH IN SOME MEANINGFUL WAY. IT'S KIND OF LIKE AN ADDRESS BOOK WHERE I KEEP THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE I OFTEN WORK OR COLLABORATE WITH. IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA OF HOW WE MIGHT WORK TOGETHER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I'LL BE HAPPY TO ADD YOU TO MY LIST.
