On hiatus for a while.
My people perish from a lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4: 6)
"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."
Health is everything without which nothing is possible.
How difficult it has become to find a truly ugly girl.
My Motto In Song
A Nude Woman Is Always Well Dressed.
I will not be using the services of a Retoucher any time soon.
If I contact you to book a shoot but you feel, for whatever reason, my work is not up to your standard and you do not want to work with me please just say so instead of childishly doing a no-show. It would be greatly appreciated.
If after we shoot you want images please bring a lap top or some storage means and plan on spending as much as an extra hour for me to ensure a good download. Thank you
Beginning with Van Gogh, we are all to a certain extent (regardless of how great we want to be) autodidactic - indeed, one could almost say, naive* - artists. Artists no longer live within a tradition, and each of us has to create his own possible modes of expression. Every modern artist possesses the right to create his own vocabulary from A to Z

*Naïve arts: not using the conventional styles and techniques of trained artists, e.g. in the treatment of perspective or light and shade
I am a holdout of the Pictorialist movement in Photography from the last century.
When I print my work it is on canvas rather than paper. As a Pictorialist I prefer my images softly focused rather than sharply focused with the end result to look more like a painting rather than a photograph. I often use 19th century paintings as backgrounds as well as backgrounds shot without the model. I keep the lighting as simple as possible to mimic sun light. I am not always successful in the conversion from concept to piece but I work hard at it gaining skills as I go. All is a learning process.
I believe that a woman's bare feet are far better looking than any shoe she might wear.
In the classical world, artists were more interested in the male nude than the female nude. It was the beauty of the standing male nude that signified moral protection. The male nudes that were painted and sculpted and today fill the walls of art galleries carry on the classical tradition of the standing male nude as the expression of virility. That is not to say there were no female nudes during these times but the Greeks, and Romans were not interested in the nude female body, seeing women as ill proportioned creatures who could not be made to fit into the pattern of male perfection.
The emergence of the female nude is a product of the Renaissance: the period of enlightenment. What set this off was Giorgione’s Sleeping Venus. Sleeping Venus gave rise to hundreds of artists who were willing to depict the female nude in various ways. At first she was more modest, a hand in front to hide her genitals, hair to cover her breasts. Gradually she became more sensual hiding nothing that God gave her; shown in all her glory. We have not looked back since thank goodness.
I believe God to be The Master Artist with the creation of mankind His greatest work and the female form His Masterpiece.
