I have been facepainting for a number of years, I started in the usual way, painting at family gatherings,friends childrens party's etc. Then a couple of years ago my daughter entered a bodypainting competition and won the novice category. I was bowled over by this art form and I suppose you could say I caught the bug!
I started getting into body painting myself and I am absolutely loving it and learning all the time, and the more diverse and unusual the better!! I never dreamt that I would one day be involved in this fabulous art form, it's never too late to follow your dreams and life's too short to be just a spectator!
In 2010 I entered the same competition as my daughter had the year before, and I won not only the novice category, but came second overall and also won two prizes for my brush and spongework! Then in August 2010 I entered a bodypainting competition in Wales, and came third in the amatuer category! I was extremely chuffed to say the least, and now want to do more and more.
I would love to meet up with and work with models and photographers who, like me are short on cash and long on ideas, and mutually give our services to each other for portfolio work, but of course, would love some more paid commissions too.
