About Me

Retouchers- please stop trying to add me blindly to your friend lists. I do my own retouch work and if I need a shot done by someone with more experience I already have people for it. Thanks.

Now, about me....

Published in Broken Image, and in Eye on Fine Art Photography magazines, relocated from Northern California to Central Missouri at the end of 2014.

Love small town living, but it seems finding models in the sticks is a little challenging, lol!

My first love with a camera is shooting wildlife and nature, but as a creative outlet I do like to shoot artistic or conceptual imagery from time to time, and am always open to shooting promotionally for anything from local businesses to local bands. If you need shots for a good cause, let me know and I may offer reduced rates if it's something I support, or even shoot it for free if it's something I feel strongly about.

Just bought a house in Marshall and am upgrading my equipment for my new in home studio, although I much prefer shooting outdoors under natural light. In California shooting outdoors was rarely limited by bad weather, but with all the rain out here in the Midwest, I'm having to plan for a lot more indoor shoots.

If there are any models looking for a fresh set of eyes in the area feel free to hit me up and let's see what we can put together, be it a simple portfolio expansion shoot or if you have something more artistically complex in mind. If I like your look and we can agree on a concept that I like as well, I'm willing to shoot TF, otherwise my rates are very competitive.

I do require a signed model release before shooting, and if you pull a no show / no call, or are extremely late without calling ahead for a scheduled shoot without an extremely good reason I will not reschedule you later, nor recommend you to other photographers, so please be courteous and professional by respecting my time as you wish me to respect yours.

Unless you are buying the rights to the images produced in a photo shoot, rather than simply buying prints, it is standard that the photographer owns all copyrights to the resulting images and you will be compensated for your time in one of two ways; either by being paid directly, in which case you are not entitled to copies of the images from the shoot, or on a TF (trade for/ time for) basis, in which case you will receive copies of the final versions of any images from the shoot I find worth retouching within 2 weeks of the shoot date. In the latter case, you may copy, print, and use these images AS PROVIDED (you may not edit, crop, or otherwise alter the images) for PERSONAL, NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY, with the sole exception being that you may use the images to update or expand your modelling portfolio.

Unless I am shooting for a client who is paying me, such as a promo shoot for a local business, the latter option is generally how I operate. On occasion I may submit fine art images to a few magazines for potential publication, but there is no money involved in doing so. In fact, most magazines these days actually CHARGE a photographer a submission fee, rather than paying us to use our work, which is why I rarely submit any, and when I do so it is only to publications which respect photographers enough to not charge such fees.

To FEMALE models:

Please feel free to bring an escort when we meet for an interview, and to the photo shoot itself. But DO make sure that they understand they are there merely to ensure your safety, NOT to be involved in directing the shoot itself in any way. There are few things more annoying to a photographer than having an escort trying to interject their own "vision" or direct a shoot from the sidelines. It is also preferable (but not required) that your escort NOT be someone who is likely to be prudish or overprotective. I expect to be shooting with an adult who can make her own decisions about how much skin they are willing to show. My intent is to create compelling, interesting, and yes sometimes even sexy images, so if you are not comfortable shooting something simply say so and we move on to the next idea. I will make jokes and goof off a bit and try to make the shoot a fun experience, to keep the mood light, however I consider myself a professional and hope that you will view me in the same light while shooting, and exhibit some professionalism yourself, and if you bring an escort please ensure that they are capable of conducting themselves properly as well.

Feel free to bring an MP3 or CD player with speakers and a selection of music you enjoy to help you find a rhythm to your movement and posing.

Thanks for reading!

I look forward to working with you! =)
