I am selling a Promaster 50mm f/1.7 lens that is in excelent condition, the lens I belive is a pentax K-mount if you wish to use it normally. The reversed adapter is basically hand-made by cutting a hole out of the canon body cap, glueing a glass-less 58mm UV filter ring to it, since I used this to work with my 18-55 as well, I chose 58mm ring, using a 52mm step up ring to make the promaster work. Here are the images, followed by two shots I made from using this setup on my digital rebel. Worked ok on the 18-55 , except with the 18-55 you have no way of controlling the aperture since thats normally done with the camera. With this promaster however, the aperture selection is made from the lens, you'll also notice a little metal bar on the back of the lens which I assumed allowed for the camera to keep wide open til shot. With this little bar which moves ever so smoothly to wide open from whatever the highest aperture you have set ( if you set to f/22 you can move the bar back and forth to open from f/22 to f/1.7). This in essence gave me a real-time DOF preview and exposure sight. Especially useful if you are capturing insects and such and you need to quickly get the area in focus and not just extremely shallow.









Here are the sample shots using this lens reversed on the rebel, the aperture varied between f/14 and f/22 on a bright sunny day @ ISO 200. At a shutter speed of 1/125.



This fly was maybe bout the size of my fingernail, realtime adjustment of the aperture made this easier.
