Would you like to get into large format and need to be shown the ropes? There will be a large-format photo workshop in Palm Springs, CA (about an hour and 1/2 from San Diego and LA) covering the inner-mysteries of the marvelous format. topics include: Exposure (meters, Polaroids and Bellows-draw), Lenses - pros vs. cons and selecting the best lenses for your work, Lifts, Tilts and Other Adjustments, Locating bargains in the LF field, Flash, Landscape/Architecture vs. Model/Figure techniques, Press vs. Monorail Cameras, Scanners, and Pinhole Photography. With film still widely available and high-end digital out of most photogs price range, there has never been a better time to get into this exciting field. All participants would do well to have at least a 4x5 camera with them, but it is not necessary, as all topics will be presented on clear, easy-to-understand handouts, and a few demo-cameras will be on hand to display techniques. Those wishing to rent a 4x5 for the workshop, please contact for price-list. The cost will be $75.00, and will include an architectural/landscape portion, followed-by a studio still-life portion. Film-developing in C41, E6 or Black and White will be available after the class for those interested and at a fee of $2.00 per sheet.
