Just wondering about some images in my port. What makes one get more views than another? What makes one more striking than the next? Why is the "Young Beauty" shot without comments? I'd appreciate serious especially photographers comments as well, critique (not bashing) is helpful. No one really seems to do that on this site. All you get is "nice shot." I want to know why you think its a nice shot (composition,color,lighting..), what moved you, etc? It would be greatly appreciated to hear from you and I'll do the same for you. THANKS Nov 18 05 11:31 pm Link Hi Janira: This image crops off the hair at the top and is too tightly cropped on either side. It feels squeezed in, you might want to pass a sharp filter over it once as well. This image may look better in a sepia, if you can shop out the single strand of missplaced hair I personally think that would be helpful here. The tones are nice but the chin looks a little shiny. This image would be better in color after deepening the hues and adjusting the contrast to deepen the color richness. Look at your levels and adjust the perifery markers. There is alot of lost depth by desaturating the image. This image needed some POP to it. I readjusted the colors and brought in the level markers. Threw a sharp filter over it and got this result. In this image there is nothing aesthetically wrong but I would have come in closer, framing the face tighter than using a medium closeup on the subject. The image does not stand out because the face is lost in an ambience of depth. I find this modification more compelling. Hope this was the kind of critique you were looking for. Cheers.
