I don't believe this is a real post !! I've been taking film to Wal Mart at least 5 years....semi nudes, nudes, nude men with hard on's, nude women using toys, sucking, fucking, nearly ANYTHING that would embarrass your grandma, I've developed there and NEVER have had my film, negatives, NOTHING messed with, missing, or otherwise had any problem.

They outsourse thier film developing, so theres no time with a 2 day turn-around, to go through THOUSANDS of images ! Now, it MIGHT be possible if you do the "one hour" thing where passers-by see it come out of the machine.

Having said that, years ago, Echards ( spell check ) sent my negatives back with out any pic's with a note saying nudes were not appropiate material for them to do..they were only tasteful nudes, but I was PISSED and have NEVER shopped there again.

One of the reasons I develop my own film & make my own prints.  Am I the only one around here that does that?

i've worked at a walmart and a wallgreens. i would print out anything and everything. got some freaky stuff on the weekends. they're not allowed to destroy anything! and its only supposed to be considered porn if there is penetration or fluid exchange and even then they still have to return your property. if the machine destroys it they are supposed to show you the damaged roll and replace it with a roll of unexposed film. really they're not even supposed to be reviewing your photos. they cant colour correct on the machine. just inserting the negs and wlaking away to start another roll.  the only thing that is reported is child porn.

You are exactly right!  I have worked at various photo labs over the years so that I could print my own work at less cost.  The envelope that customers fill out and hand to the store have a limited liability declaration in case of the film getting lost or destroyed.  What the lab clerk did is wrong, yet you have no case for anything more than a fresh roll of film and processing.  I would never go to a Walmart anyway!

I have a very good friend who owns a photo lab.  His equipment is top notch and he prints film or digital on silver chemical photo papers.  Sometimes he will let me process and print for old times sake since I used to work there! lol I never worry about content, and shoot digital or film depending on what the subject is.  Best advise, either get to be friends with the owner of a lad or shoot digital.

When I lived in the US I always brought my film rolls to Wallgreens (it actually turned out they did the best developing with their machine...couldn't believe it myself in the first place). Never had any problems even if they show some fetish/bondage stuff.

On episode was when I went to pick them up and brought the model with. We had to wait so we strolled through the store and overheard a conversation of two emploees talking about a "hot chick" dressed all in leather and Latex doing some "sexy posing". I loved the look of the two guys when we went over and joined the conversation....

I am not surprised, they are the blockbuster video of discount department stores. blockbuster re edits most of their videos, walmart wont develop nudes.

I also suggest a guy I used to use back when I was shooting film. He will develop anything up to xxx as long as it does not involve anything illegal and is very reasonable in my book.

I trusted him with my nude film for over a year and would recommend him to anyone.

The real answer is why in hell aren't you takeing/mailing your precious film to a  professional lab!

It's terrible that your friends negs were destroyed and employees take sensorship into their own hands.

However, the basis of this story does not seem plausible per most 1hr Service is Color, NOT B/W. The 1hr service at walmart would not process B/W. The customer would need to fillout the Dropoff Mailer, and it would sent to the processing plant, like the color film...Except B/W takes longer (several days). The main processing plant is probably Qualex, which may subcontract B/W to another plant. Therefore the clerk in walmart would not know anything, unless a note was attached to the envelope or written on the envelope.

I've had many rolls of B/W film (Ilford) processed in C-41 chemistry at several 1 hour labs.  Of course the prints look like crap because the printer is trying to remove an orange cast that isn't there,  I printed my own enlargements later.

I knew that models could be nude, I never knew film could be.  I don't understand, if your film is nude, how do you keep it from getting exposed to the light?

Yes. Actually, you're right. Of all the interesting things I could be doing on the internet, or in real life, I decided to come here and make my 5th ever post a enecdotal tale of a friend taking in her film and having them refuse to print them and destroying "inapropriate" negs. Because my life is actually so passe and bland, that this is the best and cheapest entertainment I can come up with. What I wouldn't give for a VCR. Then I wouldn't have to make up fake posts to break the monotony.
