Maybe for reasons such as this:

Once while in the Opryland hotel a friend &  I had to go pee. There I was trying to hover awkwardly over this toilet , when a woman walked into the stall next to me. She let it go. She let it go with a vengence. Grunting, and then ...the noises. I was mortified. I couldn't restrain myself. I laughed so hard I nearly fell. My girlfriend two stalls down didn't know there was someone else in the bathroom with us and asked me what the hell I'd ate and to at least have the courtesy to disguise the noise.
I can only imagine how embarassed this woman was.
