Be a big boy and take your own advice? You fear mongeral thinkin escort is there to rip you off "Oh no mr bill!". That escort travels from florida to get ya wink . We have a band of us traveling getting photogs big_smile.
Lol seriously are you arguing to argue?
Seriously this issue will never be resolved. I just know my plan works and have seen it work till agency etc is in place.

It's because it doesn't make any sense. Someone expects her to act like an adult and do her due diligence rather than take a little friend along with her to work and then she says "be a big boy."  There's too much irony to understand her post even if it did make sense.

So for Photographers here is a perfect valid statement:

No escorts that have no verifiable valid function on a shoot, you may bring a MUA, hair stylist, Wardrobe Stylist, or valid assistant if they have valid proof that they are indeed able to fill that position and benefit the shoot, in fact this is encouraged.  Please forward their portfolios to me so I can see whom you would be bringing and so we may work up any ideas we may have together.

Hows that?

bruce macevoy wrote:
here's an even better perfectly valid statement:

NO ESCORT.

the escort only means one or more of three things: (1) the model does not believe she can control herself or can judge other people; (2) the model does not trust you, the photographer, to control yourself; (3) the model is running a split screen narcissist/victim fantasy about "what photographers really want from me".

the question is, why would you work with a person who has that kind of head noise?

Which is exactly what the person who started this thread doesn't appreciate. He doesn't understand the underlying motivation and irrational fears that play into this. The sad thing is that there are many components to the due diligence that a model and photographer can do that actually will increase the level of safety.

Most of the model escort argument is bullshit and here's why.
Every weekend thousands of young women hook up with random strangers
they've met at clubs and bars.  Gasp, many have sex with these men.
To then turn around and say they fear about their safety when working with
some of the middle aged photographers on MM or elsewhere is silly and frankly
a lie.

Do they need a escort for that new cute but a stranger to them guy?
Nope all they need is he's cute and its all good.  Why don't they use the
same caution as they talk about with us.  Background and or reference
checks.  Thats why when models ask me for reference checks or are
adamant about bringing a escort I generally lose all interest.  How many check
out a new love interest?  I'm not saying that models should throw caution
to the wind but if you are paranoid about working with photographers and
need a friend to attend every shoot then this may not be for you.

Well, sorry to disagree with the op but the 1 or 2 times my bf has come with me to a shoot, he has helped out a lot.  He has held lighting umbrellas on location, helped carry wardrobe, ran to the store to buy batteries, drives me if the location is far away so I don't get a headache, and relaxes me in front of a total stranger. He is also a master at photoshop, so he comes in handy post production. I know not every model has such a functional bf as me, but the photog has always really appreciated his unintrusive assistance, seeing as most photogs on this site don't have an assistant.
I only bring him along on small shoots where I know he will be helpful and not a burden. On jobs where I am booked by an agency for clients, I arrive solo.

For shoots, not dealing with agencies, but more like a TF type of shoot, bring your wardrobe stylist or Make up artist.. to assist with you... Those are my plans smile

No problem there.

People that are directly involved with the shoot are always welcome!

Most of the models I work with are functional enough not to need such a functional boyfriend.

And turn over the images to you & your guy for editing?  Uh... no.

I don't get it, isn't part of why you choose a photographer based on how his final images look?
So why use someone else's editing?

LOL, so not only do I have to find busy work for your BF, but I get to sit with him during editing!

escorts, escorts, escorts grrrrrr....I bring my husband who is also my mua hair stylist, and assistant outfit helper...he helps me dress, and zip up from behind...I surely cant ask a photog to help zip me up from behind....

I've helped models with hair and wardrobe before. Zipping a dress is different than groping.

I also work with a female MUA who is happy to jump in and assist with clothing if needed.

Should I stop using my penis to zip up dresses?

The other escort thread got locked down by Kevin because escort threads aren't supposed to be on the "industry" fora. That's fine.

But this escort thread, also on an industry fora, just keeps going and going.

I'm wondering why.

That's a shame...

James and I had some good information on that thread, and invested some time on it.
