That's just a silly thought...never use the terms "for-ever" or "always" when describing any piece of technology..because you will be wrong....film will be around for a long time...in 10 years or so that may only be in a manner similiar to LP's now....but in 100 years?  When the eco-nazis have stamped out the use of industrial solvents and it's become prohibitevly expensive to maintain roll coaters that aren't made any more, and some other technology has replaced "digital" as we know it today?  If you look in the past one generation of technology is retro...2 generations goes the way of the dinosaur (what did come before LP's btw....???  smilesmile

Um...no, believe it or not, there were LP's before the 70's, when 8-tracks came out.  Before Lp's were 78's, irrelevant now, but they still exist as does the technology to play them.  Collectors and hobbyists only need apply.  There is no industrial application to support that technology.  as there won't be for film  Anyone want to buy an Otari 5050  8 Track machine?  They don't make tape anymore, a finite resource now.  It's just moving too fast to predict and our toys are being developed by the Computer industry, not film makers.  so...tick tock...wanna buy an F5?
