?

The Mark 3 1d is not full frame, it has a crop factor.  It is made for speed shooting (sports)
The Mark 3 1ds is a full frame camera, it is made for portrait work.

They are two completely different cameras.

Well sort of Infamous in that it has sluggish AF, it's consumer body is a dust magnet and it's so long in the tooth the rumor of it's replacement has been around for nearly 2 years. instead they just dropped the price by a grand. Right where it should have always been.

my god people where do you get this info the 5d is a pro camera

Apparently a new SLR will be replacing the infamous 5D towards the end of 2008. Anyone know anything about this? I heard it from a friend but havn't found any updates or info online about it.

The 5D is famous, not infamous.  Look up the word.  You may have been trying to make a joke, but it falls completely flat because you misunderstand the word "infamous". Sheesh.

infamous as in IN Famous.. the extra famous  more than normal famous smile

You don't have to know anything, or hear from anybody, to know, what features it will have.  It will have all the upgrade features the Canon 40 D, EOS 1 D & DS Mark III's have.  3 in. screen, live preview, self-cleaning sensor & 14 bit.  The only question is, will they keep the same 12 MP sensor, or will they be smart & use, the
EOS 1 DS Mark II 16 MP sensor ?
