The Wind - Nolan Strong and the Diablos

This was an extremely popular Doo Wop slow song in its time, at least in my neighborhood.  Although released in 1954, it was still popular when I first heard it, about 1960.  It was a "grind 'em 'up."  Sexy and smoking, yet still stately.  Think of a tango, but standing in one spot on the dance floor.  smile  If you weren't in puberty before you danced with a girl to this song, you were by the time it ended, three minutes later.  smile

Can't find an audio link, but here's a pic of the 45 with its label, and some info.

http://rateyourmusic.com/release/single … e_mine_f1/

Also nicely and pretty faithfully covered by the Jesters.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exa49B3nr-g

Ps - It's not being played at the wrong speed.  It's that slow.

Reminder: Rule 2: Try NOT to use the simple words like a, the, to, is, etc.
(Bluefire snuck one by at the top of the page.)

The Scorpions song is actually Wind of Change, T Brown just wrongly added the "s".

I came late to this game, and I had a vague impression the songs were supposed to be rock, R&B or outlaw country.  So, at first I felt a little guilty about posting songs by artists who were neither rock nor R&B, nor outlaw country.  But then I saw that people had posted songs by Pat Boone and Barry Manilow!  So, I said, fug it, if Pat Boone and Barry Manilow are OK, then so are Andy Williams and Paul Robeson!  big_smile

smile Yup, anything goes. Robeson RULES, Willie is awesome, and Andy W. owns the definitive version of "Moon River" (IMHO, with the possible exception of the heart-stopping a capella version that Michael Stipe would occasionally summon up during R.E.M.'s early years)
