I don't normally crop photos for an exact final print size but I had a model request me to do just that, 5x7.  I am using cs2 and when I set the crop to 5x7 and the resolution was already preset at 240 pixels /inch I am losing a huge amount of quality in the photo.  It looks all blurry.  I can resharpen the photo but when I print it it looks really bad.

So how do I get a 5x7 crop and not lose quality?  Is it the pixel/inch setting?

Thanks in advance

The simple answer is to set the crop to 5in x 7in and delete the DPI / PPI box.  It'll give you the ratio you want without messing with the DPI at all and preserving as much resolution as you already had there.
