I just purchased a netbook (acer aspire one 10.1 inch) and I fully intend on buying a plug and play monitor for editing pictures, but in the meantime I've noticed a few issues with my screen size.

When I use photoshop and I go to the filters (liqufy for example) The screen doesn't fit... I don't know how to explain it... I can't shrink it to make it fit to my screen size/shape.

So here's a screen shot of it.. It also does this in yahoo pool lol

Any help with resizing my screen to fit photoshop would be awesome... Is this common? Am I just missing some easily fixed setting??

Unfortunately, what you missed is Photoshop's minimum system requirements, which also include a minimum screen resolution (1024x768, I think). Your netbook maxes out at 600 pixels tall, so no dice.

Doesn't mean you can't use Photoshop, it just means that Adobe offers no fix and no apology for the stuff that doesn't work.

CS4 Photoshop lists 1,024x768 as the minimum screen resolution, and many dialogs require all of that. (The Raw dialog and Liquify jump out, but there are likely many others.)

Can your netbook's display resolution be changed? Your precision will suffer, but...

When I go into graphics properties, my only options for screen resolution are 1024x600 (which is what I'm using) and 800x600.

I tried it out on my mum's desktop monitor though and changing the output so the external becomes the monitor and everything works fine on that monitor. I guess I'll just have to stick to that until I get a monitor of my own. Just thought I'd see if there were any other solutions.

It makes sense though. I also make documentaries and ulead video studio won't even open because my screen isn't a high enough resolution. Thank goodness for plug n play monitors!! lol
