Make sure you talk to them several times on the phone.  I don't think you're being too paranoid.  I  have canceled shoots when the women won't  give  her number or speak on the phone.

I also spend several days discussing wardrobe back and forth via email with the girl. But I work mostly with actresses and that makes sense to them.

Or I could make a whole different shoot out of it. Might be fun!

No. It never crossed my mind, and I have never had a problem like that.

SERIOUSLY?!!!
Their private parts worry you more?
Hermaphrodites are more common than you know.
Transgender people are constantly going through physical changes to feel like their true selves.
What does it matter to you if their downstairs doesn't match upstairs?
Unless you're shooting nude, it should be of NO concern.
Smh.

Is actually a guy/guys that are going to come to your shoot, beat you and steal all of your gear?

I have nothing to base this on other than the fact that my stuff is expensive and I'm meeting a stranger off of the internet. Also, it's my first go at booking someone off of MM.

If I genuinely thought there was an issue I wouldn't proceed. I have insurance and in reality it's probably going to be fine but the thought has crossed my mind.

I'm sure I'm being paranoid, does anyone else have this type of insecurity?

I know your point is that you're afraid of getting beat up/having your gear stolen, but you know women aren't defenseless right?
This whole frenzy your brain has gotten you into is a bit much, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Check references.
Make sure their account is active.
Meet up at a coffee shop to go over ideas if you'd like.
Meeting strangers can be scary, but thankfully MM is not CL.
You have more resources here to calm your nerves.

From a model's standpoint, you could be a rapist for all we know (I don't assume it, but hell it could happen).

If we acted on our gut feeling or anxiety all the time, we'd never leave our house.
Take a chance!

Not sure if serious or trying to make a point about models' fear of working with photographers off MM...

Yes, I am aware that I can get my ass kicked by both genders. I only used the "actually a guy" thing to emphasize my point of deceit.

In fact, I've actually had my ass kicked by a women. Her name was Anifa and she mowed me down, sat on me and made me punch myself for 20 minutes. She was yelling "WHY YOU PUNCHING YO SELF" the whole time. It was a terrifying, and maybe a little arousing. But mostly terrifying.

Thanks! Yeah, even though I'm new to this I gained a healthy respect for the dangers of strangers after working in a high end jewelry store. I guess that's where the fear comes from. Also, my wife, who quite succinctly put it as "you're bringing an effing stranger from the internet to our effing house? Really REALLY???"

Crazy woman!

Buy her a pink gift to keep her happy.
