How usable is this image, given what I have in my portfolio currently? Is it lacking in quality, or could it add something to my port? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to critique it.

Of the images you have in your portfolio I would be more likely to hire you off this then the others as they look like artist renderings [This is more real and believable]

I think ANY other photo you have is better than this one.
The blacks are filled in. Possibly an issue with exposure or post processing. I'm not sure which,  but the image, in my opinion is technically terrible.  You almost blend into the background.

The comment about your other images having an almost "illustrated" look is true. However,  I think your current avatar is fine. It's much more likely to get you work than the B&W you posted.

Personally, I would not use it.
