OMG it's gorgeous, especially at night. We took a Museumnacht tour of some galleries/chapels via an antique streetcar that is apparently trotted out just for the occasion.

But there is a whole bunch of Prague that looks like it just suffered the blitz

Truthfully though, there are WAY too many cities that are just beautiful in Europe
Compared to America, the cities over there are magnificent

The US is just too young to have much character in its cities. I've been to London, Berlin, Bruges, Dubrovnik, Prague, Milan, Venice, Sofia, Gent, Split, Zagreb and Vienna. Dubrovink and and Prague were my favorites, with Berlin and Bruges close behind. The weirdest thing, though, is the Reichstag in Berlin. It's this really old building with a glass dome on it. The glass is there because the allies bombed the hell out of it during WWII. For some reason, the Germans decided to replace the (marble?) dome with glass.

The Reichtag was deliberately not restored as a way of reminding people that things can never be the same for Germany post WW2.

Seriously, Budapest is just lovely.  The view from Fisherman's Bastion over the Danube to the Parliament Building is just stunning.  And Matthias Church, which is in front of the Bastion, is SO beautiful.  I want to go there again.  And to Prague.

I have never been but what I have seen from pictures but I would say Prague and Paris would be on my short list.

Same for Warsaw, only city that had the privilege to be razed to the ground in 1944 after the Insurrection (not the same as the ghetto uprising the year before but the polish resistance provided all the weapons to used then as they were stockpiling for August 1944's action). And first such even since the Romans razed Carthage to the ground 2000 years before.

Anything you will see in Warsaw is less than 60 years old, and I mean *anything*, including the lowliest park. It had to be restored from paintings and some salvaged blueprints.

Every street corner has a list of people, sometimes 50-100 at a time, executed against walls by the Germans. Including bullet holes.

A reminder that just like Germany, Japan, and Italy, Poland also lost WWII and wasn't among the victors, thanks to the Western Betrayal orchestrated by the traitors Churchill and Roosevelt.
