I think some things are good for the most part, however the eyes are
very dark now and have taken much of the life from the image.

I think you need to back way off on the retouching.  IMO.. nothing looks good.

+1 with the eyes. They are dead looking...much darker compared to the surround tones of the image.

I feel you (OP) are going in the correct direction, just need more finesse. (practice)
