I'm bored. Anyone want a critique/opinion? I will be extremely honest with what I think of your portfolio and what I think you need to change etc. Pretty much I will be mean to you.

I will try to keep this going.

You have a very nice portfolio except I don't feel drawn to the photos or any connection with the models to the camera. Could be that you're choosing the wrong photos or the wrong models. Some of the photos the models just look lost and there is no intensity in the eyes - the majority of them have the same expression on their face.

You're 5'2 and you don't photograph tall. Must you have your mouth open/slightly open in almost all your photos?

Please get rid of this photo. It sucks. It does nothing for your portfolio. Your legs look short, you're not really modeling you're just sitting there and there is no connection with the camera.

Another photo that you need to delete. Your neck looks thick, really bad angle of your face and your nose looks really huge.

Thanks for the feedback!  I'll try to work on adding more emotion into my photos in the future, you're right I do need it in some.

I'm not wowed. The lighting is good and the composition but I'm not wowed. I don't know what sort of photographer you are. Right now you look like a senior portrait photographer. I feel that the execution of the shoot isn't being met - meaning I think you have an idea but I can't see the idea being executed in the photos.

I hate this photo! There's nothing creative about this photo. The lighting sucks - doesn't really flatter the model. No connection with the model.

You don't look very polished in your portfolio and you don't know your angles.

Chin and neck look thick in this photo. If you would've brought your chin out and maybe angled it a bit this shot would've been golden but this is just mediocre.

Same thing with this photo, chin out and angle it a bit. Also learn to angle your body to make your waist appear tinier. You look thick.

The dress doesn't fit you. Your boob looks like its going to pop out and you look tired.

Pretty much your avatar photo is the only photo that I somewhat like. Everything else I hate. Though your avatar photo you have no neck so you really need to learn your angles etc. Find out what will make you look taller and try to make yourself look a little more polished.

Editing like this reminds me of an instagram filter.

This was a bad choice of photo. The models arm looks amputated. If you are going to have the model cover her boobs with her arms then remember to have her angle her body towards the camera. Also the way the model is posed the shape isn't very flattering to my eyes.

I don't understand this at all. Why is her fly open? Why does the model not have a neck?

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/130226/11/512d0ee95262f_m.jpg

I think you need to work on the little details of your photos. The lighting is great and the models are great but looking at every single detail in the photo can make or break a photo.

Another example. Does the model only have one arm?

Actually yes, the model does only have one arm, but it was one of the more natural poses we could come up with without being too obvious.

Sorry no, I'm just kidding around. However I've always wondered how a critic might feel if, one day, they got caught up on this point.

But seriously, thanks for the feedback smile

Wasn't all that mean really.

Cheers
