I don't think she intended to do that. It is quite obvious, for a new female model, they are quickly inundated with offers for nudes. I think this is a good thread to explain to the OP why you do nudes, and for those who don't to chime in as well. wrongsideofthirty wrote: She may have asked a "legit" question but I don't see why any photographer here should have to "explain why they shoot nudes" to someone who doesn't understand why people want to shoot them. sorry, some people just don't get it, and the OP seems to be one of them; that's not a criticism or a putdown or any type of slight intended to the OP its just an observation from reading her post besides does anyone really want to listen to all the cliches about "the beauty of the human form" welcome to MM This is one of those threads that, no matter what you do, it is going to turn out badly. You are absolutely right. I tried to get it on track, but even the OP wasn't willing to bring the rhetoric in line. I think it was a good thread because it demonstrates how tone is everything. The OP could have asked the same question and had a productive discussion if she hadn't decided to insult everyone in sight.

Alternative summary. Model signs up, gets inundated by requests to do porn/nudes when profile says implied. Models asks if MM is just creepy old dudes. The answer is MM is chock full of creepy old dudes, and creepy young dudes. That is probably how a lot of models earn a living. It also has a lot of really outstanding photographers which few tried to point out. Old thin skinned photographers and thin skinned model traded insults. Model deleted profile. Rather than promote photography, old thin skinned photographers convinced model that all photographers really are creepy old dudes who just want to photograph young girls nekkid. yes, we all could have done a lot better.

Agreed. Also, having seen some of the messages sent to a male model who joined this site, and assuming that the female models get the same or worse, I'm actually surprised at the number of models who join this site and actually stay. I don't know what can be done about it, though. By the way, I have contacted a few models on MM who say they don't do nudes and offered them nude work, but I hope I haven't come across as creepy. It certainly wasn't the intention.

Pretty sure there are two members that would have never come to the thread if I hadn't gotten here first. Glad I serve a purpose.

A fine summary, although I must mention that I don't see what her being over the age of 30 has to do with the colour of mustard...but still a fine summary.

Probably has something to do with creepy old guys that want to shoot young models. 30 is younger than 70, but it’s not 18-19. (cause that’s what creepers want to shoot).

This seems to be in the same spirit as the OP. Photographers really don't need to justify why they create the images that they do. ETA: Perhaps the OP was expressing sour grapes because photographers were passing over her.

Moderator Note!
It looks like the OP left the building so locking before this gets out of control. Leaving in place though as there are some useful points.
