I had a great shoot with Alana Mae (MM#3482306), but now I've more shots that I like to choose from.  Great problem to have, right?

So...

Here are 3 similar images:

<img src='http://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/141001/15/542c85486bcc3.jpg' />  18+

Which, if any should I have in my portfolio?  Would either the 1st or 2nd be a better avatar than my current one?

While we're at it, should I pare down the number of Alana shots in my portfolio?  I'm realizing a couple may be more similar than I probably want.  If so, which shots should go?  (Note, there are a number of 18+ images in my portfolio.)

Thanks for any feedback!

Serious critique is usually quite quiet. Put a question and come back a week or two later.

As for your images of Ms. Mae, the only one that seems to work is
18+ https://www.modelmayhem.com/portfolio/pic/37034966

In the others the crops are bad (cutting limbs at odd points or cutting hands), the background is very distracting (open up your aperture to blur it) and there are areas where the images are 'blown out'.

Even the best one above has trees growing into her spine and out of her chest!

Good luck,

I don't think any of the 3 belong in your portfolio. Of this set, your avatar image is the strongest.

Reasons why
The first image is cropped at her elbow and completely hides her neck. Think "elongation" and "extension," pull down the shoulder and lift the head high on your models for shots like these.

The second image also cuts out her neck and is oddly cropping out the one arm. The coloring of her body is warmer than her face, easily corrected in post.

The third image is a bit better on the neck but that elbow sticking out straight towards the camera is bad news. That angle turns her lovely long arm into a stump, have the elbow pulled back behind the body next time to elongate or extend it.

None - harsh shadows, varying skin colors on different parts of body (due to the lighting), awkward poses.

Sorry.

The third one, without any hesitation, whatsoever.

That has the best pose. Of course, there are many issues with it, just the same, to include bad lighting, elbow directly towards camera, lack of separation from the background, etc.

The first two are really bad crops, and those will do little for you.

You had a decent model, but you obviously have much to learn yet.
