I want to resize my photo, currently it is at 1360x2800.
I haven't resized my photos in a long time so I don't exactly remember how. I'm using colorsync utility. It's asking me whether I want to change the scale , height, or width. The problem is, I don't know what to change it to and I've random numbers but it blurs the picture sad

So any help with this will be appreciated.
Thanks
Faye

If it's a jpg:
1- Open it in Preview
2- File, Rename (you don't want to lose the original).
3- Tools, Adjust Size
4- Put in a number for either Width or Height (but not both).
5- OK

I usually set my longest side to 1000 for internet use. It is still pretty big, but most sites can handle it

I made a webpage for questions like this!

https://infohost.nmt.edu/~schlake/resize.cgi

It's pretty dumb.  But it resizes things!

Faststone Photo Resizer is the easiest way to do it.  Free.  One of a number of programs they provide.

I once heard that when resizing to a smaller size, it's best to do it in increments of 10% or less until you get to the desired size. Supposedly, that keeps the quality higher than if one makes a single big jump to a smaller size. I found a PhotoShop action that does exactly that and that's what I use. Perhaps some of the resizing software does that too.
