Hey,

So I was playing around with photoshop camera raw and came up with these 4 different styles for an image. I named them tribe, chocolate, village and black light. Honest opinions anyone?

I think blacklight and tribe might be oversatured (that could be just the image, though, based on the bright colors) but 'Chocolate'? Perfect.

I like the rich color in the original and chocolate best
Looks like you applied some skin processing to the original?

Yea it's the bright colors I think blacklight is oversatured too. Chocolate is delicious right?

No skin processing in the original. I haven't retouched any of these images yet. Just playing around with camera raw first then the retouching games will begin!

I like the original a lot and once you retouch it, think it will look amazing. The other effects seem a bit gimmicky/unnecessary to me. #2 choice is Tribe. I like how it softens the background, but the skin looks a little too yellow.

Cool image. You're certainly on the right track.

Just because something can be done, does not mean it should be done or looks good.

Process the first image without going overboard, gimmicky, or trying to be "creative".

It takes time, and lots of practice, to figure out what is good and what is gaudy.

Good for you, I like pushing images a bit (sometimes even beyond where they should be taken), and playing with all the buttons  .  .  .  ya never know what may be hiding in there  .  .  .  wink  I'm drawn to the "tribe" version with it's warm, slightly sepia tone, but really like the vivid colours in the original as well  .  .  .  may have to do some layering, and keep both  .  .  .  keep experimenting, "they" give us all those tools, may as well at least try them  .  .  .
