All opinions are welcome. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going in the right direction on here. My complete portfolio is much larger and more diverse than what is shown on my profile.

Let me know what kind of vibes/feelings my posted portfolio gives off.

Thanks.

First thing I noticed was the wide range of expressions, which is awesome. No one wants a model that makes the same face in every photo. And you have a great face.

Your height could make things a little more difficult, so I'd suggest studying posing and angles that will lengthen you. For example, in the shot of you in the red skirt and blue blazer, if you had turned your hips to the side your legs would look longer. Extending any limb towards the camera is going to shorten it.

The black and white shot you're using as your avatar is easily the best shot in your portfolio, great connection to the camera. There seems to be some weird cropping and quality issues going on with a lot of the others. If possible, make sure you work with photographers willing to give you decent copies!

Your face looks great in the shot with the the car, but again your legs are shortened by an awkward angle and the shot itself seems amateur. The one with the red dress on a chair doesn't make sense to me. The cropping makes it a little claustrophobic and I'm not sure what the intent of the photo was - it's not a fashion or shoe shot, there's no emotion, and you can't really see your face.

I like the shot where you're sitting on the stoop quite a bit, great expression.

Seem like you've got some pretty good instincts. Generally I'd keep going in the direction your going, keep learning and refining, and look for photographers that know how to utilize what you have to offer - and will give you good quality copies for your port. smile

Respectfully, I disagree with this evaluation; to me, your portfolio presents you as too narrowly niched, although there is definitely some good work therein. For the long list of genre's you list in your profile sidebar, you really don't seem to have good examples of most of those. I would look to revamp your port to showcase not only your talent but also your versatility.

In terms of the emotional tone your portfolio evinces, while it is certainly fairly professional, your collection of images doesn't seem to me to present you as very easygoing or fun to work with, but rather as somewhat haughty and aloof; while it's not wise to for photographers to try to judge with much confidence how the tone of a model's online portfolio will translate to the experience of working with her, I suppose that from a model's perspective in terms of marketing herself, it might not hurt you to find some work you've done on the lighter, friendlier side that you feel is representative of what you can do in front of the lens.

#1 An interesting shot -- for the photographer's portfolio. Hides you in almost every way.

#2 Again, not sure what it does for you, it's well done but if I had to pick you out of a crowd from it, it wouldn't be easy.

#3 Same

#4 Looks like an amateur snapshot. Up the nose shots are not your friend.

#5 Terrible green fluorescent lighting. If it had been shot from a normal height, with you looking at the camera, with proper color balance, we would have seen what you look like, in a flattering way.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150430/04/5542116ec5bbd_m.jpg

#6 Way too much in frame. You're putting your weight on your right arm, making it bulge on top. Uncurl your fingers. Not an expression that's inviting. The angle of the shot and the black boots (chopping off your feet above the ankle) makes you look short.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150430/04/5542112e51dce_m.jpg

#7 Bad lighting, underexposed, badly framed - not your fault. You almost smiled here, would've helped.

#8 Good lighting, good pose. If you faced the camera (so your eyes would not be all the way over to one side (especially your right eye)) and smiled, it would be more inviting.

#9 You are too small in the frame and your face is overexposed. Because of these we cannot really see your face.

#10 The light is bad. Looks like an old faded color print photo. A little post-processing would get rid of skin blemishes and converted to black and white, it's not terrible. It then looks like you are smiling.

#11 I like this but it's not clear enough for a portfolio shot
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150426/09/553d0db6d9359_m.jpg
#12 Good light, good pose, your hair off your neck is giving your neck a long look. Nice profile and your legs look long, too.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150426/09/553d0d9da28ee_m.jpg

#13 You have a blank, sort of unhappy expression. You are hidden under your hair and clothing. You have a fist pointing at the camera. Good eye contact with the camera with your left eye. Could be a character study but not a portfolio shot.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150426/09/553d0d5895e81_m.jpg

#14 This would be a dramatic head shot if it were cropped from the bottom up to just above your shoulder and in from the right just getting rid of the flower in your hair. Your face is slightly over-processed but it would be ok, here, if cropped.

#15 Keep this for your personal portfolio. The photographer may be famous, one day - very artistic. But for you. we don't know it's you.

Find photographers who know how to do portfolio shots FOR MODELS. Enlarge your range of expressions. Sexy, is a light in the eyes and an inviting expression. The blank "model look" is just that - not memorable. Your portfolio is supposed to make people remember you and want to book you.

Good luck, shoot more and have fun!
