I would love to know experience from people who works with this strobe. If you are in USA I would love to know where you bought and if you pay custom taxes.

Thanks, Jose

It's sold, by Adorama, as the Flashpoint Rovelight Monolight 600/B. I have the Bowens mount version. Very satisfied. The only thing I'd like to see improved is a louder recycle beep for outdoors use.

I bought the Flashpoint mount at a special launch price of $330.  I compare it to the Einstein here http://www.imafoto.net/blog/featured-ar … tein-e640/

It is great for on location one-light setups.

Been there a few times. I wish there were a way to adjust the volume, but it's really a nice light.

I did the same but went with the Bowens mount because I knew I'd have a lot more options for accessories available.   Good write up on your blog. Thanks for that.

kinda not happy with the HSS..you have to turn olff the trigger every time to get it to work again...too much of a bother

Though I can easily blast the sun at full power with this..and with a 27 beauty dish

Never had that problem. I use Pocket Wizard Plus IIs with a Nikon SB800 in the hot shoe to trip the camera into AutoFP mode. Connect a Pocket Wizard to the SB800 or the camera's sync port and start shooting. I make sure turn the flash to manual and 1/128 power so it doesn't add to the exposure.

I use the Phottix Odin and never have to turn off the trigger. In most cases after the shoot I forget to turn it off and have to replace the batteries......

Fwiw, there is a firmware update out for both the Nikon and Canon of late.  Nikon had some HHS addressed so maybe Canon too, although the say something about some turn-off issue in their blog.

I just did mine.  My Odin Nikon and no issues other than one receiver had to be hit twice with the update before it registered.

Using the yn-622c as shown here http://flashhavoc.com/flashpoint-roveli … 00-review/ has been very reliable.
