I think it has been confirmed as the biggest object in the belt, it got preempted for Eris (I think it's name was?) -- which it awesome (I hope it gets it's status back!)  not by a lot, actually, but by enough !

It's exciting.

I am hearing that there are bright spots on Pluto like the ones on Ceres.  That is fascinating if true

No.. it was found to be only 2km larger in diameter than the latest earth-based estimates -- from 2368km to 2370km or just about one tenth of one percent.

And in any case size wasn't the main factor for determining its planet-ness.
