Which one you like better, color, BW or the "sepia filtery" one?

Any other comments or critiques are also welcome, but mainly I'd just like to know which image is more appealing.

I feel like I would like the black and white better if it was actually black and white, not that sepia filtery look.

Just an opinion thought, I'm really not a fan of sepia coloring.

Because I value your opinion so much I dropped what I was doing and did a more standard, cooler toned B&W and added it to the mix.

Thanks for your input!

I normally prefer B&W but the color one has more pop to me and I like the overall look of the color photo.

Color. Because it's not plain brown or blonde hair, show those vibrant colors wink

I like the way her jewelry and eyes seem to pop in the B&W, but I am leaning towards those vibrant colors in the color version.

Ok, great. It seems the color version is taking the lead so far.

Thanks for all the input.

Here is a vote for the B&W.  (My son likes the color but he's not on MM.)

I'd say the black and white one. The color would be if the skin color wasn't so wildly inconsistent between the face and body.

I vote for the color version. It attracts the eye quicker and keeps the attention longer.

I did an informal poll amongst friends similar to this recently and found no consensus. I personally find the tonal values more interesting in her face of the B&W version. In the color version, the skin tones on her figure look a little too rich for me. The unique shape on her face and the color of her hair fight for attention in the color version in my opinion. In the B&W version, the triangular shape takes precedence and becomes the statement. The triangular shape is the emphasis and color distracts the eye from what you are really trying to "say" in this image.

I think I like the B&W best.
The color version reminds me of Bowie's ALADDIN SANE

If my counting is correct, 8 favor the B&W and 5 prefer the color version. Interesting...

I kinda prefer the sepia one better myself, but it looks like we're clearly in the minority here. smile

Majorities are good, but not infallible (Nixon, Carter, and the lesser Bush all got majorities!).  I like sepia.
