My Tip for you:) Your  eyes are beautiful  Thought you might need to find way to relax them.

Let's see how you could improve the quality of your portfolio:

#1 There are technical problems with the photo - overexposure, distracting bright areas, over processing, but you have to watch out for turning your head all the way (causes neck wrinkles) and your eyes all the way (all we see are the whites). otherwise pose is ok.

#2 This is a sweet shot - expression, pose but you've been made into a cartoon
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/151004/03/561101926dd03_m.jpg

#3 Nice pose and beautiful green eyes but you're giving off a zombie stare. Overprocessed.

#4 Not good - glaring expression and your face looks like a mask. RElaxing your eyes is a good suggestion.

#5 Much better. Natural looking. Photographer emphasized your zits by sidelighting you. It would have worked better if you had pulled your hair back a bit to your left shoulder to let the other light, light your face from the other side. Wearing black in front of a black background makes you disappear. You need a lighter top or the photographer needed to light the background.

#6 Good pose, lovely smile.

#7 Sweet shot - lovely expression. You might relax your smile a bit to show less gum and pull your shoulders back a bit. Notice how front lighting makes zits disappear?

#8 Here position is everything. If you had been seated more forward (the edge of the box), your back would have straightened, your arms and shoulders would have pulled back, making your hands go edge on rather than knuckles forward. It would have been a more professional looking pose. Looks like the shutter was clicked a second too late, the light is out of your eyes.

#9 There's the light in your smile!

#10 Someone mentioned your feet in the comments on this shot - they must have looked really hard. What is most prominent in this shot is your knee (I can almost see a face in it). This is actually a very nice composition, with post-processing, could be made to more emphasize your face (simplest-remove necklace with ring).

#11 Nice profile but needs to be cropped from right and left so that you are more of the picture.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150908/23/55efd59c08ba3_m.jpg

#12 Good pose but your top and face are overexposed so we can't see the details in either one.

#13 Bad photo. Dump Your expression looks angry.

#14 At first look sweet, 2nd - zombie eyes
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150908/23/55efd50a6ec77_m.jpg

#15 Just not good enough, technically.
https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150908/23/55efd4cf54772_m.jpg.

Practice expressions in the mirror-don't try too hard for an expression, relax into it. Shoot with other photographers. If you've got skin problems, a little makeup can help, proper lighting even more.

Good luck and have fun!

Hi! I am looking for some feedback on my modeling skills! I have been slowly building up my portfolio over the last couple of years and I am wondering what I need to progress on.
Thanks smile

Krissy,

You need to start your own thread, not piggyback on someone else's.

Howard Tarragon gave you a pretty concise critique so there would not be much to add in that regard.

https://photos.modelmayhem.com/photos/150928/19/5609fdee024f8_m.jpg
You now know about different types of lighting and its effects.
So on to the pose, fill the frame, with your elbows tucked in you are tapering down, rather form a pyramid, move elbows off to side [So you can stick a fist between elbow and rib cage], this will form a triangle with a good base. Body and head are facing camera square on, add a bit of dynamics by placing body on angle to camera.
I would also like the hair to fall with out hanging up on shoulders.
[You have some fly away hair, use a dryer sheet to remove static electricity, blot gently do not rub.]
So here is my pose adjustment, keep head as it is, move models left shoulder back by moving hips as well, not just twisting the body. Move elbows off to side, right elbow slightly forward and left slightly back. Move hair behind models left shoulder to open up neck. Crop photo just above the elbows.

Quite a nice image
Suggested pose would be to move models right elbow off to side so mid section can be seen, also place a bend in elbow so arm is not so straight
Color of face looks different then arms.

Nice smile, but would like to see the elbows out more, and body on angle
Sit tall arch back
[See how the hair behind one shoulder opens up your neck?]

Notice how arms are off to your sides and you are filling the frame, which makes for a great platform on which to place your head.

This pose makes me think model, good job on your part.
Suggested changes, models left hand long fingers instead of forming a fist
Lower models right shoulder toward camera for a longer appearing neck
[If you want to tighten bottom of your top use a Dollar store clip in back]

You have a great look, I wish you well

!!!Oh great the internet police are here to save us all.!!!

Dude, if a person asks a question in a nice way, the decent thing to do is to respond in a nice way
Did you feel manlier and cooler after putting her in her place?
