Hey Jorge,

I like them.  Why are you  pissed off and depressed?  You have a strong style - do you really care much what Internet strangers think?

But I must say that #3 is my least favorite.  Never mind, my style is different than yours.  LOL

Pissed off and depressed because the shutter broke.

Thank you for your kind words.

I'm not sure that I understand.  Did you capture these images after your shutter broke?  Then you should label them as "Broken shutter #1" etc. and classify them as fine art.

I'm serious.

I'm sorry that your shutter broke.  Is there a back story?  Did you not realize as you were shooting?

I so hope that you have another camera.

Good news is, the shutter can be fixed! Grab the back up camera, send the broken one in to be fixed, and within a few months you'll have your cam again!

But, I agree, it's heartbreaking/sucks when the camera breaks

went through that with my Nikon D300 years ago. Not sure how much it will cost for a Medium...???

Sending it to authorised repair centre would be ideal.
This is another reason I prefer MFDB...

Sorry, not intending to add salt to the wound.

Hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later.

Horrible news. Medium format Pentax shutters--about a thousand dollars from what I saw on the net.

I personally like these, but too pissed off and depressed.

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

They are all fantastic creations. I'll be inspired to shoot high key nudes next time I shoot in the studio. I particularly like the ones you have transformed into monochrome.

Sucks that you broke your shutter.

Yep, it's the 645z. sad Still under warranty, though.

No, I just posted these to cheer me up, after the shutter broke. Not much a backstory. It broke during a shoot yesterday.

I tested the Mamiya, and didn't like it. Too pricey as well.

Hopefully sooner, thanks.

Might pay to go to the Ricoh/Pentax site and hit their live support chat person up for a pre-paid return stamp which might include the insurance too:  http://ricohchat.tosystems.com/open.htm   If you're really nice they may send you a box with the stamp in it too, but it takes longer too.

Fwiw, I thought C.R.I.S in Chandler, AZ used to be their warranty site, but I see they moved it to Precision Camera in Connecticut so it might be a while in transit.  Don't even think about a back-order from Japan for a shutter (months!).  Too bad Pentax pulled their factory-owned service center out of Englewood, Colorado (Still remember the address as 35 Inverness Road too, damhik!) after the Ricoh takeover.

Also, clean it up real good so they won't try and pull a "Visible abuse is seen. Warranty denied." stunt either as their 645 repairs start close to $500 otherwise.

Good luck!

I like them all.

The blown exposure

The fragmented body composition

The feel of the clean nude with the clean background reminds me a little of the art of Oleg Dou

They are interesting as a series, keep going.

I like #3 best.

It reminds me a bit of Veronica Lake, film star of the 40s with a very distinctive hair style.

I'm not one to blow smoke up people's asses for the sake of it Jorge and have been known to offend some members by offering an honest opinion.

But I must say I've always admired of your work mate, imho, you're one of the few truly talented and creative souls left in these forums.

To paraphrase a previous quote of yours, "not all of your children can be winners". This is true, however, when I view your new work. I can usually see that you've tried a new creative angle or technique in your creations.

I don't hang out in here all too often these days, for I have trouble dealing with some of the baseless "professional" and "expert" opinions, along with the countless lynchings that come with them.

Anyhoo, I still enjoy checking out your work and wish to offer my sympathies to you regarding your busted shutter.
Good to hear it's still under warranty though, I hope they get it back to you better than new 😄

All the best.
