This is the time, when I hate being an animal lover, and pet owner.

We had to put my mut down today.  Old age, diabetes and thyroid problems were taking a toll on her.  It was time.

RIP Baby Mut

Unfortunate and my condolences to you.  My best friend has gotten to a point where his dog has aged(He couldn't even stand on all 4 legs recently) and now is starting to end up the same way.

I'm so sorry for your pain.  I've had to put down three dogs and it doesn't ever get any easier.

I had to put Charlie down in August and I still expect to see him around the house.

i've never had a dog but apparently they can be very loyal. i imagine it would be hard to part with a companion like that.

this story about Hachiko the dog got to me:

<=============  This. Took me two years before I could put away her collar and leash that hung by the front door. I guess I always thought that there would be just one more early morning walk. I miss her. A lot.

Ah, but you being an animal lover meant she had the best life possible and let her go when she was in so much pain.   I wish more pet owners were like you and those of us that treat them with the love and kindness they deserve.

Been there 3 times. so sorry. cause I know that feeling...the first time back in the house and the house now feels dead somehow lacking the being that used to always be there.
the removing of the toys and blankets.

the way that helped me was realizing there are alot of dogs that dont get good familys who treat them well. so just think about how both of you got lucky.like my dogs your dog probably had it good.

It hurt to let him go but I am so grateful for the 14 years we had with this guy. He helped me raise my kids and started in on my grand-kids.
