Hello everyone..  Im just setting up my profile, and I'm trying to set my avatar.  the information suggests that there is a 'set as avatar' box next to any of the images I've uploaded. but I'm failing to see it, be it in expanded or thumbnail view. I'm I juts looking in the wrong place?

The trick is that you can't do it from your portfolio page.
To make those changes you need to click on My Stuff (in blue letters above this, & on most pages) In the resulting drop-down choose Photos, and there you will have a column of all your photos with the "Set as Avatar" option beside each. Choose the one you wish to use.
(That is where you can also edit the info under your photos if you want.)

- Keep in mind, for future that any photos marked "M" (Mature content) would not be allowed as avatars.
- You can change avatars whenever you like.
