I recently got some new photos done but I just want your opinion about my total portfolio. Be as brutally honest if you like. You could pick my best to worst as well.

And yes that is my dog. Also what do you think of my photos with my dog?

All but one or two of the dog shots have the dog doing absolutely nothing. In those "doing nothing" shots, it would help to at least have you and the dog looking closely in the same direction, as if being in synch or sharing a vision (tossing up a ball or set of keys works wonders for that). But the dog is just plunked passively into the shot for no apparent reason.

Without the dog, those could have been some of your strongest images. The dog's presence weakens them.

These two work. The others don't.

You, as a model, seem to be finding yourself OK, which is good. The problem for models is when they hook up with photographers who are not very good. Technically, many of the images are not very good which is the fault of the photographer, not you. If you really want to purse modeling I would continue to shoot and over time you will get some real winners.

I would remove redundant images, an example is the white dress and playing the violin. You want to show what you are as a model, it looks more professional when you edit yourself down to the best of the best from a particular session. I can tell you as a photographer, I can spend an entire weekend photographing landscapes and will be ecstatic if I have just one winner for three days work. People don't want to see all my Pretty-Goods, they only  want to see The Best. (Of course, I should practice what I preach because I have crap in my portfolio; there is a reason for that which is why they're still there but they're still crap).

And speaking of the white dress, one little trick with loose-fitting garments is to pin it in the back so it enhances and flatters your figure.

The shots with your dog are fine, IMO...

But, I have never understood model's fascination with posing covered in fake blood.

Would love to know whether models think this is cool, or does the photographer suggest it?

I can barely stand a port covered in fake blood drooling shots...

Each to his/her own I guess

This shot rocks:

As a model who uses fake blood, it's all about the concept and vision of the model or photographer, the horror style imagery that not everyone is into takes a required taste, I do however love her diversity, shows she is comfortable with doing whatever. Cute puppy! Lovely pictures!
