Hi,

I did a shoot after a break from modelling and want some feedback on the first 3 photos please.

Also, I want to add more but need to loose some, which should go first?

Thanks,

Andie

Not working for me
Clothing has a lot of “pilling” on shoulder area
You have a vine or something growing out of your hair
Cutting your hand in half, watch and hair band are distracting
Wish we could see all of models right eye
Great smile

I want to see your hands
Hips are square to camera, would prefer that they were on an angle, would add dynamics
Harsh sunlight models left cheek
Something odd going on in chest area of dress, looks like black paint over spray
For me in order to highlight the model, I prefer the backgrounds to be out of focus

Too much of models right eye missing
Would like to see less sky more model

My top picks

Pose wise, for me this is much better
As I said on the other image, I want to see the model not distractions around the model. To me that 'H' on the wall is distracting, it is almost the same size as your face
The watch and hair band seem too tight, note you still have the vines coming from your head.
For the moment, I would call this a photo to stay in your portfolio, I think it shows you off well!

It is pretty, but I want to see your big beautiful brown eyes.

You seem to have fingers coming out of nowhere, you might sweet talk your photographer to see if he would edit them for you, “just bat your eyelashes” [Smile].

They are better, just remember this is my critique from my style:
Backgrounds out of focus, so there are no distractions pulling attention away from the model.
Make sure the eyes are in sharp focus, try to avoid photographs with on camera flash, puts a small catch light in center of eyes, and does not usually render 3D lighting
Pose the model so every joint is bent, adds dynamics and interest
Example: Hips on angle to camera lower shoulder toward camera and raise the hip that is below the lowered shoulder. This will make an “S” curve through the models spine.

I wish you well

You have a good look in this photo, but I would have different ideas on how to crop this image.
When I see that much left arm I would also like to see the hand too.
Perspective distortion, see how wide the door is at the top compared to the bottom, this is usually the properties of a wide angle camera lens used at a close distance
On the plus side you have your eyes positioned so there is white on both sides of each eye, thus we get full impact.
OK, so you ask how I would crop it:
Top of photo just above your head by the mark on the door. [I want to see you not the door.]
Right side of photo, at the end of your left sleeve. [To eliminate the distracting locks.]
Bottom of photo, just below models left sleeve. [This would be a better place to crop the arm, and removes narrow part of door and will also remove arm shadows on door.]

I wish you well
