Canon EF 28-560mm f/2.8-5.6
Canon Files Patent for Impressive EF 28-560mm f/2.8-5.6 Lens http://petapixel.com/2016/05/20/canon-f … uper-zoom/ ONLY FOR FF! I just want to know? 1. Will it be sharp? 2. How much? 3. How heavy is it? 4. Does the focus ring get stuck? 5. Is it good enough to replace the glass in my kit(Canon 50mm f/1.4, Canon 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6, Canon 70-200mm f/2.8)(except my Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8) May 22 16 05:20 pm Link "The patent was spotted by Canon Rumors, and it might fall closer to wishful thinking than actual future product." it is a long ways from filing a patent, to having a lens on the market. my advice is don't shop at canonrumors.com May 22 16 07:19 pm Link Super zooms usually have no value beyond a general vacation walk-around lens. The IQ is never that great. But maybe technology has improved them a lot since I used one. Nice range though. I'd buy one -- just as a general walk-around lens. I wouldn't shoot any actual jobs with one. May 22 16 07:33 pm Link Considering that this is more than double the existing superzoom range, AND brighter, I would expect this to be more the size and weight of a 400 prime than a 'walking around' lens. My guess is that some government agency somewhere asked Canon to make these lenses, and applying for the patent was simply an early step to help prevent the contract from going to someone else. Having a patent on something means absolutely nothing until someone tries to bring that to market. Not quite a full SigMonster, but nothing I would want to carry around all day. May 29 16 05:14 am Link |
