Just curious, are there any areas to steer clear of on the forums for new members?

Welcome Chris! I think that to get the most out of this (or any) site, you should explore everything available. You will find that certain topics get repeated regularly, but that is part of this place. Use casting to find models and make-up people near you and search their castings regularly.

There are several topics that people beat the deadhorse over on a regular basis. Escorts, flakes, why do 18 year old models consider 40+ photographers creepy?, no response from models, GWC's, etc. The best thing to do is search for the topic before posting.
