I need to record some audio on my windows PC. How do I connect my Rode DSLR microphone to my PC?

You will need a sound card with an 3.5mm microphone input.  As an alternative, every smartphone that records video can be used as a quick audio recorder.

use a 3.5mm jack on the microphone wire and plug it into the LINE IN or MIC IN on the back of your computer.

youll need a recording program like AUDACITY or COOL EDIT.
they are both free downloads.

Wouldn't it be easier to record using your camera then demux the audio and video afterwards?

Voice over  to be added is my guess.

Almost every machine has a  "mic in"  jack available

Look for   "Sound Recorder"    in the Windows accessories menu heading somewhere (if you have nothing better installed) --  it should give you a usable file for editing / mixing     with whatever editor you have.
