My guess is that it's tough for male models to find work unless they're really into fitness and have an incredible chiseled look that would work well for the cover of a muscle magazine. Or, they have incredible DNA that would work on the cover of Esquire for a fashion male model look.

That being said, if you really want to give this a go, your best best would be to hire a really good professional photographer to start building your portfolio. Once you've done that, get rid of all your snapshots / vacation photos:

It's a snapshot at best, and not a good one at that. Look at the winners for the Pic of the Day contests (both normal, as well as Male 18+) to see what a good phtographer can do. Many of the Pic of the Day winners aren't even that good, but there are some good ones here and there, it'll at least show you what you're looking for in a photographer's port when you hire someone to shoot you some port-worthy photos.

Ignore what I said about the 18+ pic-of-the-day male model winners. I personally find them rather tasteless, and they don't seem to be good quality to me.
