Hi all, I have been avoiding MM for a little while... life changes and all that. Coming back in, I want to update and polish off all my stuff. I am really struggling with a good bio. Do I include links?... how much is too much?... you know, the usual. Over the past year I've gone from serious hobbyist to full time photographer (this is what I make my living doing) and I'm wanting to bloom into the more model serving side of glamour and portraiture.

I appreciate any critique you can give, even the small stuff.

Thanks!
EO

IMO, your profile doesn't match up well with most of the work in your portfolio. Seven years experience and out to create breathtaking art and you've got a handful of very good work and a lot of snapshot-quality stuff.

You've got some good work, nicely lighted and composed. For example:

...and a bunch of this:

Not breathtaking. What's breathtaking to me is what you're charging for a shoot. But if you're actually getting $500 per shoot for that work, more power to ya.

It doesn't help that you've got a ton of redundancies, both the good and the bad. That portfolio is massively padded.

Do I include links?

Links to what, specifically?

how much is too much?

How much of what, specifically?

Thank you for your critique. I will definitely use it to cull down my portfolio. I have seven years in creating bodyscapes and environmental nudes. I am adding over into the alternative boudoir niche where as a client centered photographer, yes $500 is my session fee and my average customer out the door price is $1000-1,200.

What I was saying about links is links to social media... Model Society, Suicide Girls... other platforms where my work is shown. And by how much is too much, I was referring to wording. I want to make sure my bio communicates my personality but also doesn't bore potential collaborators to death.

Again, thanks for your opinion. I will make adjustments!
