I been using a old 5D mark II and now have a R5 what are some problems other people have with it?

Problems tethering? Haven’t had any issues.

You will need an USB-C tether cable.  I use my R5 with the USB-C stepping down into a USB 3 port, but it is not ideal.  Obviously a computer with a proper USB-C port would be better.

The RAW files are very large so a faster, newer computer is helpful.

The RAW files are a different format than the 5DIII (CR3 vs CR2) so you will need to download the newest plugins for Adobe.


Other than these things, the experience will be similar to the 5DIII.

As always, if you are renting an unfamiliar camera, be sure to order it a day early and test it with your tethering setup a day before your shoot.
