About Me

Aloha mai kākou! I'm Eddie Fuentes Jr and I started Maui Sponge as a way to photograph my friend while surfing. I've diversified my photographic interests and have selected certain venues to expand my creative learning. I appreciate the fanciful and character-based photographic art that portrays models in scenarios or personas that they wouldn't normally be depicting, however I use my photography to showcase the athletic, cultural or personal activities that take place outside of a controlled studio environment.
Models show with surfboards actually surf, and aren't merely holding props. Those shown in mountain streams hiked there because they have an affinity for hiking. Guys with beautiful mountainous backdrops in their photos are actually born and raised in those picturesque locations. Women with athletic and curvaceous figures actually are show doing the sports they enjoy. Much mahalo to all my models, for without them, I would just be photographing pretty landscapes around Hawai'i nei.
