About Me

I am an experienced part-time/semi-pro photographer trying to start a "retirement" business as a Photographer because my job in Information Technology evaporated with the financial meltdown of 2008. I have a long standing interest in visual and graphic arts and I have my own studio in Bloomsburg.

Education includes an MS in Library and Information Systems, BS in Business Administration and I am currently enrolled in NYIP to gain additional background and business knowledge to support opening my photo studio. Experienced in "wet" and digital darkroom.

My photographic interests include: Fine Art, Nature and Macro, Portraits, Children, Pets, Glamor, Sports and Still Life.

I am currently interested in working with a variety of models male, female or couples in TFP or TFCD to update my portfolio of "people" pictures to more current standards. Willing to shoot in area locations, my Victorian era home/studio or travel to sites in the vicinity for mutual benefit opportunities. I may be offering some paid shoots with particular individuals if we develop a good rapport. I shoot both digital and film images and have a high quality scanner to read negatives & transparencies.

My interests for models include portraits, performers & performances, fashion & glamour, artistic figure and period clothing and lingerie. I am also interested in creating images with "retro" or vintage looks from Victorian through 1970's period, possibly experimenting with combining with modern, edgy compositions. I am very open to trying models ideas and doing a variety of special effects or scenarios.

I do not yet have a studio web site but I have a variety of examples to show the quality of my work that can be seen on my Flickr page.

Short bio ~
In 1968 I was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany when the Soviet Union invaded Czechoslovakia. Because I was in the right place with my own equipment and an appropriate security clearance I was assigned to highly classified photo documentation and for the remainder of my tour of duty I was utilized as a photographer.

When I got out of the service in 1969 I worked in retail and commercial camera/photography/photofinishing sales. This led to some experience in Graphic Arts. Lots of color analysis and a broad understanding of the photographic industry.

In 1980 I stopped working in photo industry and began an Information Technology career. I am now trying to build on my experience because of the marriage of photography and IT technologies.
