Fire is my art form. We have an understanding between us, like precious few others I've met along my way. The skills I've acquired are rare; the aptitude and intimate understanding rarer still. The danger is very, very real; fire performance has almost killed me on one occasion. I design and fabricate custom performance tools; all of my tools are hand made and one-of-a-kind. Most of them are dangerous, something most fire performers and prop designers seek to minimize...I kind of enjoy it. I have a commitment to realism and continuity of aesthetic, and I go the extra mile to ensure that what comes across is as real as it is awesome. I am among Canada's most skilled fire eaters and contact staff performers; I have taught advanced-level classes on both skills at Wildfire Training Retreat, an international fire performance training retreat attended by some of the world's best artists and performers in the field.

In my waking life, my profession is: Photography. Can you guess what I specialize in? I come with an intimate knowledge of the interplay of fire and light; it's how I learned lighting in the first place. First hand, by experimentation, in the field. I bring that to the table in all my photographic, film and performance endeavours.

For these reasons, among others...I come with a price tag. And it's not cheap. If you have no budget for this, I understand; I'm only interested in ones who do. My portfolio is simply not desperate for yours or anyone else's work. If it ever does, rest assured I'll have no trouble finding someone to do it (if I don't just shoot it myself, as I typically do).

Hire me, and you will get what you pay for. I come carrying personal liability insurance up to three million dollars, a trained safety tech, all appropriate safety gear, professional photography experience and the knowledge to make your project come out the way you envision it while keeping everyone on set alive and burn scar-free.

My performance troupe IlluminAir Entertainment is also available for photoshoots, video and film, stage performances, corporate events, parties and just about anything else you might have in mind. We perform regularly in both the corporate and popular culture circuit as well as the fetish circuit, and we currently boast 5 feature stage show acts at Toronto's historic Opera House, among others. Our troupe specializes in edgy, unique, custom choreographed acts, including fire and aerial performance fusion acts...something you will only get from IlluminAir. I am one of our troupe's fire/aerial performers and have skills in aerial cube, static trapeze, static hoop and to a limited degree, aerial rope and aerial silks.

I am also experienced in the design, construction, maintenance, operation and safety procedures of LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) flame effect systems. I am among the core team of artists at Interactive Arts; we are the collective responsible for 'The Heart Machine' (as seen at Burning Man 2010 and commissioned by the city of Toronto for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2011) as well as 'Flux and Fire' (Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2010 People's Choice award winner for independent project and Winterlude 2011 in Ottawa). I am also a core team member of 'Super Street Fire', an interactive virtual fighting game environment pitting players against each other in the center of a motion-responsive ring of fire.
