About Me

I am an artist, designing and creating one-of-a-kind wearable art. My working style has a vintage feel to it, due to my love of costume history. I am especially fond of the Victorian and Edwardian periods, with their highly embellished and layered garments. I do a lot of recycling of clothing in my work-mainly silk-and can spend up to 3 months working on one gown. I also make fanciful hats, and embellished shoes and boots. You can see what work I currently have for sale in my Etsy shop- (www.etsy.com/shop/rakijaa).

I will be looking for models from time to time, in the Northwest Indiana area, for photoshoots featuring my work. The majority of my garments are done for wearable art runway shows, and can be quite conceptual in nature, but I will also need to shoot hats and costumes as well. I also can be available as a stylist, especially for shoots with a period or genre feel.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about my work.
