VeritaBelle by Elena. I am a freelance makeup artist and hairdresser, with varied interests in beauty, high-fashion, costume, and conceptual hair and makeup.

I received my beauty education from Paul Mitchell the School in Cosmetology and Bobbi Brown in Makeup Artistry. Although never formally educated, I am also an amateur fashion designer, seamstress, and image consultant.

I've been working professionally for over seven years, holding licenses in both Virginia and Maryland,where most of my clientele lives. Even so, my clientele reaches beyond the DC Metro area up the East Coast to New York and Boston and overseas with international clients who visit me for an appointment when they are visiting the area from Japan, Sweden, Italy, Spain, or South Africa.

While I appreciate the beauty of the human form, I firmly believe that "showing skin" is unnecessary to demonstrate it. Women who are truly beautiful, instead of "sexy", are rarely mistreated as objects. I refrain from collaborating in work involving nudity whether it be implied, partial, thinly-veiled, or otherwise.
